Conditions vary from mild back strains to post-surgical fusion and hardware procedures. We have a great record of success!

Dr. Paul Dumont

Paul D. Dumont is an accomplish Doctor of Oriental Medicine, educated and trained at the prestigious Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM. Southwest Acupuncture College is one of the oldest and most respected educational institutions of Oriental Medicine in the United States. His honors level work was recognized in 2005 when he was awarded the Thaddeus Bukowski Scholarship “In Recognition of Showing Promise as an Outstanding Practitioner”. Paul furthered his education by completing internships both in Vietnam and the United States, with a focus on treating pain and psychological disorders using acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

Dr. Dumont has learned a comprehensive set of acupuncture modalities which provide his patients with effective and competent care. His training includes YNSA Scalp Acupuncture, Chinese Scalp Acupuncture, the Hari System, Manaka’s System-Ion Pumping Cords, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and Dr.Travell’s Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy. The Doctor excels in the highly sophisticated and powerful field of Chinese Medicinal Herbs. Educated and trained by Chinese Doctors who had a combined experience of over 100 years.

His success in effectively treating his patients comes from his unique background and nature concerning human suffering. At a young age he was profoundly affected by the psychological, emotional and physical pain he witnessed. At the age of 20 he entered into a private theological institute and graduated in 1985. He spent the next 22 years ministering to those who suffered spiritually and emotionally. These years gave him an uncanny ability to communicate and listen to his patients on a personal level, and to identify with their health concerns. His skills in interpersonal communication provide immense health benefits to his patients by bringing chronic health or emotional issues into focus in a way that comforts and provides hope to his patients and facilitates the most effective treatment plan.

Dr. Paul Dumont and his fiancee Debra live in northwest Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are dedicated to his flourishing practice, Westside Family Acupuncture, and his community work. He is a community leader, teaching and promoting health education, and the effectiveness of Oriental Medicine.

Cynthia (Cindy) Jones - Personal Statement

Cindy Jones is a channel of relaxed energy moving through the office.  Her quote for Westside Family Acupuncture is:  “When you are ready to stop being in pain, call me.”

A third generation Air Force “brat”, Cynthia learned how to make friends and network at a young age.  The middle daughter of six children, her naturally laid-back manner will have you feeling at home in no time.  Affable and encouraging, her smile is waiting to greet guests and to accompany clients through the journey of trying traditional oriental medicine.

Cindy wasn’t always so relaxed.  A National Honor Society member, she graduated with Honors in the top 10% of her class.  An overachiever, she made up for always being the new kid by striving for success in a wide range of subjects.  From 3 years as a teacher’s aide to French club and Drama club, her schedule was packed beyond the core subjects.  The busy, stress-filled hours continued outside of school: Puppeteer Troup leader, 4-H Club president, church youth leader.  She’d win a History Day or Flag Line competition one day and then act in the junior class play or make Allstate in choir the next.

Trading one set anxieties for another, Cindy left Hendrix College to marry back into the military in 1988.  The physical and mental tensions of her youth rolled over into physical and mental traumas of adulthood.  As happens to many women, her husband was abusive and she eventually terminated the marriage after the birth of their daughter.  However, that union brought her to Kirtland Air Force Base, where the calm desert became home.

Cindy struggled as a single mom but learned how to be strong without losing her tenderness.  In 1999, she married a compassionate and stable man, with whom she raises two daughters, two dogs, a cat, various fish and a turtle.  She has completed her first book, under C L Cooper, but has not yet attempted publication.  Although a few of her poems were chosen to represent the city of Albuquerque for the Tri-centennial, she is happy with her life and will wait to pursue some things until after her children are grown.

God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

The path of overcoming the abuses and stresses from her own history has brought Cindy to a place of sincere and gentle understanding.  New patients usually lose any hesitant qualms or uneasiness very quickly and feel free to open up concerning their pains.  Her manner helps people feel comfortable enough to relax, which is key to receiving the most excellent results in acupuncture.  Coupled with this sympathetic nature, her desire to represent the love of God in a very honest and real way makes her an added gift at Westside Family Acupuncture.
